Percentage Who Say Nation On Wrong Track Drops to 63%

UTICA, New York--President Barack Obama's job approval rating has climbed back up to 42% after recording his low of 39% in our previous Zogby Interactive poll, and the percentage who say the nation is on the wrong track dropped from what had also been a high for Obama's term, 69% previously, to 63% currently.

Obama's approval among Democrats rebounded from 72% on Nov. 22 to 82% in this most recent Nov. 29-Dec. 1 survey. His approval among independents fell slightly from 39% to 35%, and remained steady coming in at 7% among Republicans.

The poll also found that after a long period which job approval for Democrats in Congress was consistently several points higher than that of Republicans, it is now roughly even with Democrats at 28% approval and Republicans at 27%. Overall, 15% approve of the job Congress is doing.

The interactive poll consisted of 2,084 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/-2.2%.  A sampling of Zogby International's online panel, which is representative of the adult population of the U.S., was invited to participate.  Slight weights were added to region, party, age, race, religion, gender, and education to more accurately reflect the population.
