"Make no mistake about it, another bad week for President Obama. Added to the problems of the Affordable Care Act website glitch are suggestions he misled the public about the true nature of the law's impact. Mr. Obama did say that Americans could keep their existing plans and that costs would not go up. We already see violations of those promises or at least mass confusion.

“Also there were reports that one of the leaders monitored by NSA is Pope Francis I. Probably no WMD there.

“And job growth slowed down to less than comforting levels.

“But the administration came out fighting. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius was forthright in her defense of both Obamacare and efforts to fix the glitches. More significantly, the nation's top security officials came to Congress to argue that spying happens, the other guys do it all the time, and that the U.S. has been able to thwart secret terrorist plots many times since 2001.

“Mr. Obama's approval numbers dropped again but I am recognizing some effort on his part this week.”
