It wasn't the best week for President Obama, having to junk his promise to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, but he was given respect by the five Democrats during their first presidential debate and that's good enough for pollster John Zogby to give POTUS a grade of B in this week's Obama Report Card.

From John Zogby:

"President Obama had to backtrack on his promise to have all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by the end of this year. Taliban gains are coming in fast and furious.

"Secretary Kerry is weighing the possibility of engaging the Israelis and Palestinians as fighting resumes. And the U.S. and Russia are still at odds over Syria. Americans are not happy but an amazing thing has happened.

"During the Democratic debate held in Las Vegas this week, all five candidates embraced Mr. Obama. No one tried to end run him or condemn his policies — recognizing that he is still popular and is probably the only national figure who can generate enthusiasm among the base of young and non-white voters. Besides, Democrats have come to realize, it appears, that Mr. Obama inherited a mess. As former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley put it, 'We elected a president, not a magician. He has done a lot but there is still so much more to do.'"
